"Learning to Be Antiracist" Webinar & In-Person Discussion

Featured Events Antiracist3 image

Every Thursday until July 2, 2020

8:00pm – 9:00pm

This class will take place over 4 consecutive Thursday night sessions from June 11-July 2nd at 8pm (doors open at 7:45pm). It is presented by Redeemer East Harlem and is followed by an in-person discussion. Participation is limited to 60 attendees following our Covid-19 protocols.

How do we actively engage at the intersection of Micah 6:8 (what the Lord requires of us: act justly, love mercy, walk humbly with God) and Matthew 22:39 (Jesus’ command to love our neighbors) as we consider our personal conviction against racism? While we all continue grieving the deaths of George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor, and so many other Black image-bearers murdered throughout our nation's history, many are wondering how to be proactive, at the individual level. This class is designed as an aide to help congregants move beyond a simple acknowledgment that racism is evil, to engage with what it means to become actively antiracist. While learning to be an antiracist is really a lifelong commitment, this class could be considered one tool on your belt.
